HSP Valves recently completed an order for a major high pressure, high temperature (HP/HT) field in the North Sea. In this project Amec Foster Wheeler had to complete the engineering design of the Topsides, the Greenfield module, and Brownfield modifications. HSP worked with them to provide valves that met their delivery requirements and ensured the project’s very high technical and quality requirements were satisfied.
Due to the demanding conditions of the North Sea and the nature of the high alloy materials, emphasis and stringent specifications were imposed by the project to ensure the quality of the materials and the integrity of the valves being supplied. We primarily supplied ball valves and gate, globe and check valves in a wide variety of sizes and classes, ranging from ½” 150lb flanged to 10” 2500lb Hub End valves, with materials ranging from low temp carbon steel, stainless steel to duplex and super duplex high alloy steel. Through HSP’s knowledge of the project specifications and our strong supply base, we were able to collaborate with our principle partners both in the UK (Goodwin International) and in Italy (Truflo Rona and Bonney Forge).
HSP Valves offered exceptional support in all stages of the project. Our approach was to drive the project by having a strong presence in the manufacturing facilities and to ensure all aspects of the manufacturing process, material delivery, and the appropriate documentation were on schedule. We managed the project with a robust project kick off meeting, facilitated pre-inspection activities, and assigned an experienced project team that included project managers, supply chain staff and metallurgist specialists. The team was fully engaged throughout the project and kept the material moving on schedule. We successfully completed the order and met all stringent quality requirements expressed by the specifications of the project.
