HSP Valves recently completed an order for the East Hub FPSO and delivered a variety of valves to Bumi Armada in Singapore. The East Hub Development Project is located approximately 350km north-east of Luanda, Angola. First production is expected in October 2016. Keppel Shipyard is performing the FPSO conversion works.
HSP first delivered valves to the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore in December 2015. For this project, we worked with the client to minimise schedule impacts resulting from turret design changes that occurred during the manufacturing process, and were able to deliver affected valves two months ahead of schedule. We met tight shipyard build schedules -successfully managing 15 manufacturers from 5 countries. Products supplied included ball, globe, nozzle check and modular DBB valves with compact flanged or hub ends. We sourced the material from our global supplier network, including Valbart, Bonney Forge, Firsa, and Goodwin. All material was shipped by HSP with the valves in place at the shipyard when required for installation. Because HSP pre-screened and approved all Certification and import paperwork in line with the project requirements prior to delivery, the valves were rapidly cleared through customs and site QA.
Derrick Mackenzie, Sales Director for HSP Valves, commented “We operate in an environment where constant changes occur, from project schedules to changes in valve specifications, or even engineering revisions. Our quick response, flexibility in managing all aspects of the supply chain, and commitment to getting all of the technical documentation correct “the first time” are key to our successful delivery.”
